Set against a backdrop of the Himalayan Mountains with Mt. Everest a constant reminder of the majesty of the Creator, Nepal sits shrouded in a history of romantic imagery and gut wrenching contemporary reality.
Nepal is one of the poorest countries in the world. And she continues to struggle with the legacy left to her by the Maoists. The civil strife severely impacted the country’s economic base…leaving Nepal dependent on foreign aid and the tourism and limited trade agreements…
However, many have hope for a New Nepal… A Nepal that is able to more than provide for her people…a Nepal that is able to build strong trade agreements with, not just India, but the rest of the world…a Nepal that proudly shows off her natural assets to the world…a Nepal that is prosperous and forward moving.
One of the New Nepal advocates is Prakash Adhikari…a very talented, industrious, multi-faceted young entrepreneur from Katmandu.
Prakash, originally from Jutpani Village in Southwestern Nepal, has an incredible “Top Of The World” vision for his New Nepal.
Prakash was finishing his college studies and entering a non-existent job market during the time of the Maoists. He learned about tourism marketing, photojournalism, computers and business finance during those years. He even opened an internet café to provide tourists with a comfortable place to access the internet. His cyber café did well for a year. But, during the time the new government was called into place, tourism in Nepal just about vanished and he could no longer afford to keep his café open and running.
Prakash used that time to his advantage. He learned the ins and outs of international exporting. He registered his own export company understanding that one way to help support himself and Nepal would be to trade outside of Nepal.
Currently Prakash sells honey to his local market. After truly understanding the importance and power of using the internet for building brand awareness and customer relationships, he developed www.ehoney.com.np so that he can get the word out his business to a larger audience about this portion of his business.
Because travel and tourism play such a huge role in the economics of Nepal, Prakash developed a travel and tour website, www.differentnepal.com.np, to attract international tourists to his “New Nepal” by offering a full range of travel services, tours, treks, lodging, rafting excursions and safaris to all of Nepal’s spectacular attractions.
Prakash has personally experienced the majesty of both Annapurna and Mt. Everest. The tours and treks he plans for you are designed for you to see what you want to see in Nepal and to enjoy all of her natural wonders.
Prakash is committed to the development of a “New Nepal”. He is determined to help his country and his people to move forward economically and socially. His vision for his people and country is one filled with prosperity, better education and ongoing development. His vision has called him to step forward so that he can be the change that he wants to see for his country and her people. Prakash’s vision from “The Top of The World” is a loving tribute to the possibilities that exist when life is lived without borders.
